• 1Plan for at least 3 to 4 hours to explore the primary trails and allow for numerous photography stops at the sandstone pipes.
• 2Pack a high-SPF sunscreen and at least two liters of water, as the white sandstone basins reflect intense heat even on cooler days.
• 3Combine this trip with a stop at Willis Creek Slot Canyon or Grosvenor Arch, both located just a short drive away on the unpaved Cottonwood Canyon Road.
• 4Arrive early to secure parking at the Panorama Trail trailhead, which offers the highest concentration of unique sedimentary pipes.
• 5Pay the day-use fee at the visitor center entrance station, as this state park is not covered by the federal America the Beautiful pass.
• 6Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes to navigate the sandy and occasionally rocky terrain found on the easy-rated loop trails.
