Hike to Lower Calf Creek Falls

OutdoorModerateSpringSummerFall

Embark on a scenic hike through a lush canyon to a stunning 126-foot waterfall and swimming hole. A true oasis in the desert.

Itinerary tips

  • 1Arrive at the trailhead before 8:00 AM to secure a parking spot and avoid the peak midday heat.
  • 2Pay the $5 day-use fee at the self-service station located at the trailhead entrance.
  • 3Allow at least 3 to 4 hours to complete the 6-mile round-trip hike and enjoy time at the falls.
  • 4Pack at least two liters of water and wear sun protection, as much of the sandy trail is exposed.
  • 5Keep an eye out for prehistoric Fremont pictographs on the canyon walls across the creek near mile marker nine.
  • 6Wear water-friendly shoes or sandals if you plan to wade into the pool at the base of the waterfall.
