Setup by assistant

ChatGPT

Open ChatGPT → Settings → Connectors → Advanced → Developer mode (required for custom MCP servers).
Click Create and paste the MCP URL above as the server URL.
Approve the OAuth prompt — you'll be sent to Experience Utah to sign in and grant access.
Back in ChatGPT, enable the connector in a new chat and ask it to plan your Utah trip.

Claude

Open Claude → Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
Paste the MCP URL above and click Connect.
Sign in to Experience Utah and approve access on the consent screen.
Start a new chat — Claude will list Experience Utah tools it can call.

Cursor & other MCP clients

In your client's MCP configuration, add a Streamable HTTP server pointing at the URL above.
The client will discover the OAuth server automatically and open the sign-in flow.
Approve access; the tools become available in your next agent turn.

FAQ

Do I need an Experience Utah account?: Yes. Every MCP request is authenticated through Experience Utah OAuth — the assistant only ever acts as you, and only sees what you'd see signed in.
How is my privacy protected?: Row-level security in our database scopes every read to your account. Assistants never receive other users' plans, PII, or booking records.
Can I disconnect?: Yes. Revoke access anytime from your AI assistant's connected apps settings; you can also contact us to invalidate any active session.
Which assistants work?: Any client that supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP) with OAuth 2.1 — including ChatGPT and Claude. Setup steps evolve; check your assistant's current MCP connection docs.
