Hike the Fairyland Loop Trail
Escape the Bryce Canyon crowds on this 8-mile trek through spectacular spires and the Tower Bridge formation. The undulating terrain is much more enjoyable in the crisp 50-degree temperatures of an October morning.
Itinerary tips
- 1Plan for 4 to 5 hours to complete the full 8-mile loop due to constant elevation changes and photo stops.
- 2Park at Fairyland Point outside the main fee station to bypass entrance lines and start the hike immediately.
- 3Carry at least three liters of water per person as there are no refill stations along the exposed desert trail.
- 4Wear sturdy hiking boots with aggressive tread to maintain grip on the loose, slippery limestone scree.
- 5Take the short spur trail to Tower Bridge for the best close-up view of the park's most unique natural architecture.
- 6Download an offline map or carry a paper copy since cellular service is nonexistent once you descend below the canyon rim.
