Hike the Crimson Trail
HikingModerateSpringSummerFall
Traverse the dizzying limestone cliff tops of the 'China Wall' for the best aerial views of Logan Canyon.
Itinerary tips
- 1Park at the Spring Hollow Campground parking area, which serves as the primary trailhead for this loop.
- 2Plan for a 3 to 4-mile loop that takes approximately 2 to 3 hours depending on your pace and photo stops.
- 3Wear footwear with aggressive tread to safely navigate the steep, rocky sections along the China Wall cliff edge.
- 4Bring at least two liters of water, as the exposed ridgeline offers very little shade and can become quite hot.
- 5Download an offline map before entering Logan Canyon, as cellular service is unreliable at the trailhead.
- 6Complete the loop clockwise to tackle the steep ascent first and enjoy a more gradual descent back to the river.
