Itinerary tips

• 1Arrive at the park gates before 8:00 AM on weekends to secure a parking spot near the boat ramp before the park reaches capacity.
• 2Rent your paddleboards directly from the Beach at Sand Hollow located on the south shore for the most convenient water access.
• 3Budget at least three hours for your excursion to allow enough time to paddle across the reservoir to the red rock formations on the far side.
• 4Pack a dry bag for your phone and car keys, as the wakes from passing motorized boats can occasionally create unstable water conditions.
• 5Bring a physical or digital copy of your Utah State Parks pass to bypass the standard vehicle entry fee at the ranger station.
• 6Paddle toward the 'island' rock formation in the center of the lake for a unique vantage point of the surrounding sand dunes and Pine Valley Mountains.
