• 2Drive a high-clearance vehicle to access the Hole-in-the-Rock Road, as the washboard surface can be treacherous for small sedans.
• 3Remove bulky backpacks and wear slim-fitting clothing to navigate the 10-inch wide sections in Spooky Gulch.
• 4Pay the $15 per vehicle fee at the automated kiosk or via the recreation.gov app before arriving at the trailhead.
• 5Carry at least two liters of water and a physical map, as cellular service is non-existent once you leave Highway 12.
• 6Complete the loop in a clockwise direction by entering Peek-A-Boo first to make the climbs and descents more manageable.
