- 1Plan for a 4-5 hour round-trip journey to allow enough time for both paddling and hiking the dry slot canyon at the end.
- 2Launch from the Antelope Point Public Boat Ramp rather than the private marina to save time and reduce the distance to the canyon mouth.
- 3Pack at least two liters of water, a wide-brimmed hat, and high-SPF sunscreen, as the sun reflects intensely off both the water and sandstone walls.
- 4Ensure you have a valid Glen Canyon National Recreation Area pass or be prepared to pay the entrance fee at the park gate.
- 5Bring a waterproof dry bag for your camera and phone to protect them during the transition from kayak to the sandy hiking trail.
