Walk the Pa'rus Trail, Zion

FamilyEasyYear-round

Enjoy an easy, paved stroll along the Virgin River, offering beautiful views and accessibility for all. Perfect for a leisurely walk or bike ride.

Itinerary tips

  • 1Board the Zion Canyon Shuttle at the Visitor Center and disembark at Canyon Junction to walk the trail back toward the park entrance.
  • 2Allocate 1.5 to 2 hours for the full 3.5-mile round trip, allowing time for photo stops at the several scenic bridge crossings.
  • 3Bring water and sunscreen as this path is paved and offers very little natural shade compared to the inner canyon trails.
  • 4Rent a bicycle in Springdale to ride this specific trail, as it is the only path in the park that permits leashed pets and cyclists.
  • 5Entry requires a standard Zion National Park pass, but no additional special permits are needed for this route.
  • 6Look for mule deer grazing near the riverbanks during the quiet hours just before sunset.
