Itinerary tips
- 1Dedicate a minimum of four to six hours for the drive to allow for frequent photography stops and short hikes.
- 2Download offline maps and music before departing as cellular reception is non-existent across the majority of the route.
- 3Fuel up in either Bryce Canyon City or Torrey because gas stations are sparse between the towns of Escalante and Boulder.
- 4Pack a cooler with plenty of water and snacks since high-quality dining options are limited and often have seasonal hours.
- 5Pull over only at designated paved overlooks to ensure safety for yourself and other drivers on the narrow mountain passes.
- 6Stop at the Kiva Coffeehouse for the best vantage point of the Grand Staircase-Escalante canyons.
