Itinerary tips

  • 2Use the free visitor parking lot located on the east side of the complex off East Capitol Boulevard.
  • 3Bring a wide-angle lens or smartphone to capture the full scale of the 165-foot dome and ceiling murals.
  • 4Visit the fourth-floor gallery to get a bird's-eye view of the House and Senate chambers when they are not in session.
  • 5Carry a valid photo ID if you intend to join one of the free, volunteer-led guided tours offered on the hour.
  • 6Walk the 0.7-mile paved loop around the exterior to see the copper dome and the Salt Lake Valley skyline.
