Feed the Birds at Tracy Aviary

FamilyEasyYear-round

Visit the oldest public aviary in the U.S. located inside Liberty Park to interact with rare and exotic bird species.

Itinerary tips

  • 1Plan for at least two hours to explore the grounds and attend the scheduled keeper talks.
  • 2Bring small bills to purchase nectar cups or seed bags at the Guest Services desk for the Sun Conure and Lorikeet feedings.
  • 3Use the free public parking lot on the northeast side of Liberty Park near 900 South and 600 East.
  • 4Wear comfortable walking shoes as the aviary covers eight acres of paved and unpaved paths.
  • 5Download the bird-finding map on your phone beforehand to easily locate the hidden owl and eagle exhibits.
  • 6Pack a light jacket even in summer, as the mature tree canopy throughout the park keeps the grounds significantly cooler.
