Visit Ken's Lake

FamilyEasySummer

Enjoy swimming, fishing, or picnicking at this scenic reservoir nestled against the red rock backdrop, offering a refreshing escape.

Itinerary tips

  • 1Pack a portable shade structure or beach umbrella, as there is very little natural shade along the shoreline.
  • 2Allow for 2 to 4 hours to fully enjoy swimming and paddleboarding before the desert wind typically picks up in the late afternoon.
  • 3Drive approximately 10 miles south of Moab on Highway 191 and follow the well-marked signs for Flat Pass Road to reach the reservoir.
  • 4Bring $15 in cash for the day-use fee, which is paid via self-service envelopes at the entrance station.
  • 5Incorporate a short walk to the nearby Faux Falls, a man-made waterfall located just a half-mile east of the lake.
  • 6Arrive with a full tank of water and supplies, as there are no equipment rentals or food vendors available at the site.
