Hike to Morning Glory Bridge
Follow a stream-fed canyon in Grandstaff Trailhead to reach one of the longest natural rock spans in the United States.
Itinerary tips
- 1Arrive at the Grandstaff Trailhead parking lot before 8:00 AM, as the small gravel lot fills up quickly and street parking is limited.
- 2Wear water-compatible hiking shoes or sandals with good grip, as the trail requires multiple crossings of a shallow, spring-fed stream.
- 3Allocate 2 to 3 hours for the 4-mile round trip to allow time for photos and a snack break under the massive span.
- 4Carry at least two liters of water and salty snacks, even though the canyon is shaded, to combat the high-desert aridity.
- 5Keep a sharp eye out for poison ivy, which grows thick along the stream banks throughout the entire canyon corridor.
- 6Pack a light windbreaker or long-sleeved shirt, as the deep canyon walls and cool water can make temperatures feel 10 degrees cooler than Moab's forecast.
