Hike the Devil’s Garden Loop
Traverse the longest and most scenic trail in Arches National Park, passing through Landscape Arch and scrambling over narrow sandstone fins.
Itinerary tips
- 1Book your Arches National Park timed-entry reservation months in advance to ensure access to the trailhead during peak hours.
- 2Allow four to five hours to complete the full 7.8-mile primitive loop, which requires navigating steep sandstone fins and rocky washes.
- 3Pack at least three liters of water per person as there are no refill stations once you leave the Devil’s Garden trailhead.
- 4Wear footwear with aggressive tread and high-friction rubber to safely scramble across the narrow, elevated rock spines.
- 5Arrive at the parking lot before 7:00 AM to secure a spot and beat the midday heat and heavy foot traffic.
- 6Download an offline GPS map or follow the cairns closely, as the primitive section of the trail is not clearly marked with signage.
