Ride the Soldier Hollow Olympic Trails
Visit the site of the 2002 Winter Olympics to mountain bike or hike the same challenging terrain used by world-class athletes.
Itinerary tips
- 1Purchase a trail pass at the Day Lodge or online before heading to the Olympic mountain bike trailheads.
- 2Allocate at least three hours to explore the diverse singletrack loops that range from technical climbs to flowing descents.
- 3Bring plenty of electrolyte-heavy hydration, as the exposed high-desert scrub offers very little shade during the day.
- 4Utilize the large paved parking lot near the competition center, which provides easy access to the main trail map kiosk.
- 5Check the venue's event calendar before visiting to ensure trails aren't closed for professional biathlon or cycling competitions.
- 6Pack a light windbreaker even in summer, as the ridge lines are subject to sudden gusts coming off the Wasatch Range.
