Kayak Deer Creek Reservoir
Paddle along the dramatic shoreline of the Wasatch Range, enjoying the mirrored reflection of Mount Timpanogos on the water's surface.
Itinerary tips
- 1Plan for at least three to four hours on the water to explore the scenic bays and the Wallsburg finger of the reservoir.
- 2Arrive before 9:00 AM to secure a parking spot at the Island Resort or Main Canyon entrances, especially on weekends.
- 3Bring a waterproof dry bag for your phone and keys, as motorized boat wakes can create unexpected splashes.
- 4Pay the Utah State Parks vehicle entry fee at the gate or display your annual pass prominently on your dashboard.
- 5Pack plenty of high-SPF sunscreen and a wide-brimmed hat, as there is zero natural shade once you are out on the water.
- 6Launch from the Sailboard Beach area on the west side if you want the most direct and dramatic view of Mount Timpanogos.
