Zion

Cathedral cliffs and slot canyons.

The shuttle runs March through late November. The Narrows is safest in late summer and early fall when flow drops.

Utah's most visited national park, an easy drive from our St. George homes — best explored early, with a plan.

Zion National Park is Utah's most-visited park for a reason: 2,000-foot sandstone walls, a river you can hike up, and a shuttle system that puts you at the trailheads without a parking fight. Springdale sits at the south entrance; St. George is under an hour away if you would rather have a house than a hotel room.

Zion National Park sits about 45 minutes east of St. George, which makes our Southern Utah homes the most practical base for a Zion trip. From March through late November, private vehicles are not allowed on the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive, so plan around the park shuttle and arrive before 8am for parking in Springdale.

Don't miss: The Narrows, Angels Landing (permit required by lottery), Emerald Pools, Canyon Overlook at sunset, and the drive through the Mount Carmel Tunnel.

Good to know: Summer canyon temperatures regularly exceed 100F, so hike early and carry more water than you think you need. Spring and fall are the best trade-off between weather and crowds.

Why Experience Utah

One trip, planned end to end — with the people who live and host here.

  • A trip that actually works

A real day-by-day plan with drive times that make sense — not a list of links to sort out yourself.

  • Book direct, no middleman

Our homes are booked straight with the people who run them, so you deal with hosts instead of a call center.

  • Locals we actually trust

Every guide, restaurant, and outfitter we recommend is one we work with and send our own guests to.

  • One place for the whole trip

Stays, plans, and answers live together in My Trip — share it, edit it, and take it with you.
